Performance Arts

I have acted in film, television and theatrical performances; everything from drama to comedy…with just over 300 productions I have truly seen it all.

As Artistic Director of a Toronto based Theatre/Improv company for over 10 years, I took our shows from stage to church basement – performing for the “Out Of The Cold Program” for 8 years…an experience that made me realize we should truly NEVER judge someone solely on face value, as life can deal some harsh cards every now and again.

These days I prefer to create character performances in a more intimate environment…
Quartermaster Seika Hellbound evolved from years of fascination with Pyrates and their history…of course it allows me the freedom to get away with all sorts of things that just aren’t acceptable from anyone but a Pyrate! A founder of the world’s only official Pyrates Union, QM Hellbound appears at Pyrate Festivals, Cruises and helps organize charitable events such as NOLA Pyrate Week in New Orleans. Along with Capt. John Swallow I am also an historical guide during the summer  for Great Lakes Pyrate Lore & Harbour Walks™ in Hamilton and Niagara On The Lake.

I love creating interesting performance pieces that surprise people by taking them out of their everyday life – and creating characters to go with the experience. For example Missus Eugenia Mooney and her Half Penny Dreadfuls – just one piece of a puzzle toward performances of “Victorian Entertainments”. Missus Mooney is also a resident at Westfield Heritage Village (usually found in the Apothecary Shop mixing up a batch of…)

I have also danced for many years. I started in dance at the age of ten with Romanian Folk dancing…the dance of the Gypsy. From there I took Jazz, Acro and even Disco and eventually moved into Eastern Dance. I studied Egyptian Belly Dance for many years as well as Chinese Fan Dancing and even some Thai Folk Dance. It is another way of expressing myself; it offers freedom and a connection with the audience, without the use of dialog -  it is open for all to enjoy.

I have been able to take my performance background and meld it into an expression of who I am as a person, my creativity and my style. I never perform without 100% commitment to what I do.
